ellora. was born from personal experience and passion to make a difference.
Jo Palmer is a big ideas woman and loves getting sh*t done. In 2022, she moved to Singapore where she experienced firsthand the challenge of relocating to support her partner and feeling disconnected from her career, overlooked professionally, and isolated from a professional network. So, she did something about it. Founding The Trailing Spouse Co. in 2022, Jo brought her experience as an entrepreneur and Founder of Pointer Remote, an organisation dedicated to connecting professionals in rural Australia with remote work, to the global market.
Emma Humann is a strategic thinker and recovering perfectionist. She moved to Singapore in 2021 as a trailing spouse, taking on leadership roles where she built her network and reputation, but didn’t find her passion. Recognising that part of the trailing spouse story is often about settling for good enough, she decided to take a risk and try to find that elusive perfect balance of values and hard work. She joined the Trailing Spouse Co. as a Director in 2024, bringing her cross-sector experience to its strategic direction.
A review, rethink and reinvigoration saw the rise of ellora. in 2025, with Jo and Emma as Co-Founders. Being fellow, straight-talking Aussies is about where the similarities end for Jo and Emma. The diversity of their experiences, personalities and skill sets is where the magic happens for ellora. They stay on track by making friendship and fun the foundation of the way they work.
